Summary

CVE-2023-42472 is a vulnerability affecting SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform (Web Intelligence HTML interface), specifically version 420. This issue arises due to insufficient file type validation, allowing report creators to upload files from their local systems over the network. An attacker, who is already authenticated, can intercept these requests and manipulate the content type and file extension, enabling them to read and modify sensitive data. This vulnerability poses a significant risk to both confidentiality and integrity of the application.
