Summary

CVE-2023-42471 is a critical vulnerability that affects the wave.ai.browser application through version 1.0.35 for Android. The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary JavaScript code by exploiting a crafted intent. The application's manifest entry exports the "wave.ai.browser.ui.splash.SplashScreen" activity, which uses a WebView component to display web content without properly validating or sanitizing the URI or any extra data passed in the intent by a third-party application. This vulnerability poses a high risk to organizations as it can lead to unauthorized code execution and potential compromise of user data. To remediate this vulnerability, users should update their wave.ai.browser application to the latest version available that addresses this issue.
