Summary
CVE-2023-42459 affects Fast DDS, a C++ implementation of the Data Distribution Service (DDS) standard of the Object Management Group (OMG). In susceptible versions, certain DATA submessages can be sent to a discovery locator, inducing a free error. This remote crash can potentially lead to a double free vulnerability, giving attackers control over pointers. Versions 2.12.0, 2.11.3, 2.10.3, and 2.6.7 have been released to address this issue. Users are strongly urged to upgrade as no workarounds are available.
