Summary
CVE-2023-4244 is a use-after-free vulnerability affecting the Linux kernel's netfilter: nf_tables component. This issue arises due to a race condition between netlink control plane transactions and nft_set element garbage collection. Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for local privilege escalation. It is strongly advised to upgrade the Linux kernel to a version past commit 3e91b0ebd994635df2346353322ac51ce84ce6d8 to mitigate this risk.
