CVE-2023-42092 is a vulnerability in Foxit PDF Reader that allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. The vulnerability is triggered when a user visits a malicious page or opens a malicious file. It is caused by a flaw in the handling of Doc objects, where the existence of an object is not validated before performing operations on it. This vulnerability poses a high risk to organizations as it can result in the execution of code within the current process. The affected products include various versions of Foxit PDF Reader. To remediate the vulnerability, users should update to the latest version provided by Foxit Software.
