Summary

CVE-2023-42000 is a path traversal vulnerability found in Arcserve UDP prior to 9.2. This vulnerability allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to upload arbitrary files to any location on the file system where the UDP agent is installed. The affected products include bWGp0s, bWGp0t, bWGp0u, bWGp0v, to8Q28, bWGp0q, bWGp0r, bWGp0w, bWGp0x, and bWGp0y. The base severity of this vulnerability is rated as CRITICAL with a base score of 9.8 according to CVSS version 3.1. It poses a high risk to organizations as it can lead to unauthorized access and compromise of confidential data. To remediate this vulnerability, it is recommended to update Arcserve UDP to version 9.2 or later.
