Summary

CVE-2023-41989 is a vulnerability affecting macOS where an attacker can execute arbitrary code as root from the Lock Screen. Previously, the operating system offered certain options on a locked device, which provided the opportunity for exploitation. This issue has been resolved in macOS Sonoma 14.1 by restricting available options on the locked device, thus mitigating the risk.
