Summary

CVE-2023-41899 is a vulnerability affecting Home Assistant, an open-source home automation system. The vulnerability allows for a partial Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) attack, where an attacker with access to the `hassio.addon_stdin` service can invoke any Supervisor REST API endpoints via a POST request. This allows the attacker to control the data dictionary and manipulate addon and input key/values. The vulnerability has been fixed in version 2023.9.0, and users are advised to upgrade to this version. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability. The potential danger of this vulnerability is high, as it can lead to unauthorized access, data manipulation, and potentially compromise the entire Home Assistant system.
