Summary
CVE-2023-41899 is a Server-Side Request Forgery vulnerability affecting Home Assistant, an open-source home automation platform. In vulnerable versions, the `hassio.addon_stdin` service is exploitable, allowing attackers to invoke Supervisor REST API endpoints using POST requests. This can enable the attacker to control the data dictionary, including addon and input key/values. The issue has been patched in version 2023.9.0 and users are advised to upgrade as soon as possible. There are currently no known workarounds for this vulnerability, and it has also been tracked as GitHub Security Lab (GHSL) Vulnerability Report: GHSL-2023-162.
