Summary

CVE-2023-41375 is a use after free vulnerability that affects Kostac PLC Programming Software Version 1.6.11.0 and earlier. It allows arbitrary code execution when a user opens a specially crafted project file that was saved using Kostac PLC Programming Software Version 1.6.9.0 and earlier. The issue arises in parsing of KPP project files. To mitigate the impact, the affected project files need to be resaved using Kostac PLC Programming Software Version 1.6.10.0 or later, as this version implements the necessary function to prevent file alteration. This vulnerability has a base severity rating of HIGH, with a base score of 7.8 according to [email protected], indicating a significant potential danger for organizations using the affected software versions.
