Summary

CVE-2023-41118 is a high-severity vulnerability that affects EnterpriseDB Postgres Advanced Server (EPAS) versions 11.21.32 and earlier, 12.x before 12.16.20, 13.x before 13.12.16, 14.x before 14.9.0, and 15.x before 15.4.0. This vulnerability allows an authenticated user to bypass authorization requirements and gain access to underlying implementation functions, potentially leading to unauthorized actions like reading, writing, copying, renaming, and deleting files when a superuser has configured file locations using CREATE DIRECTORY. The danger this vulnerability poses to organizations is significant as it can be exploited over a network without requiring any user interaction, impacting the integrity and confidentiality of the system.
