Summary
CVE-2023-41042 affects the Discourse open-source discussion platform. Before version 3.1.1 of the stable branch and 3.2.0.beta1 of the beta and tests-passed branches, the platform fails to enforce limits on file size or number of files when importing a remote theme, potentially leading to denial-of-service (DoS) attacks or memory exhaustion. The vulnerability is mitigated by updating to the patched versions 3.1.1 and 3.2.0.beta1. No known workarounds exist.
