Summary
CVE-2023-40677 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting versions 7.1 and below of the Gopi Ramasamy Vertical marquee plugin for authentication with administrative privileges. An attacker can inject malicious scripts into the plugin, allowing them to execute arbitrary code in the context of the affected website. This issue poses a significant security risk, as successful exploitation can lead to unauthorized access, data theft, or defacement of the website.
