Summary

CVE-2023-40463 is a vulnerability that affects ALEOS 4.16 and earlier versions. When configured in debugging mode, an authenticated user with administrative privileges can store the SHA512 hash of the common root password in a directory accessible to a user with root privileges or equivalent access. This vulnerability poses a high risk to organizations as it allows unauthorized access to sensitive information and control over affected products.
