Summary

CVE-2023-40299 is a newly discovered vulnerability affecting the Kong Insomnia 2023.4.0 application on macOS. This issue grants attackers the ability to execute code and access restricted files, as well as request TCC permissions, by manipulating the DYLD_INSERT_LIBRARIES environment variable. This poses a significant risk to system security and confidentiality. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability through specially crafted malicious input, gaining unauthorized access and control over the affected system. Users are strongly advised to update Kong Insomnia to the latest version to mitigate this threat.
