Summary

CVE-2023-40181 is a vulnerability affecting FreeRDP, a free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP). The vulnerability is an Integer-Underflow leading to Out-Of-Bound Read in the `zgfx_decompress_segment` function. This issue can potentially allow an attacker to read data beyond the transmitted packet range and cause a crash. The vulnerability has been addressed in versions 2.11.0 and 3.0.0-beta3, so users are advised to upgrade their software. There are no known workarounds for this issue, and it poses a medium risk to organizations.
