Details
Summary
CVE-2023-40151 is a vulnerability that affects Red Lion SixTRAK and VersaTRAK Series RTUs with authenticated users enabled. When user authentication is not enabled, the shell can execute commands with the highest privileges. This vulnerability allows for an authentication bypass over UDP/IP, where any Sixnet UDR message would meet an authentication challenge. However, when the same message is sent over TCP/IP, the RTU will accept it without any authentication challenge. The potential danger of this vulnerability is high, as it can be exploited remotely over a network without any user interaction required. Organizations using the affected products should enable user authentication to mitigate this vulnerability.
