Summary

CVE-2023-40039 is a vulnerability affecting ARRIS TG852G, TG862G, and TG1672G devices. A remote attacker within range of a Wi-Fi network can exploit this issue by observing beacon frames and derive the default WPA2-PSK value, potentially gaining unauthorized access to the network. This vulnerability poses a significant risk to network security, as it allows an attacker to bypass the Wi-Fi password protection mechanism. Users are advised to update their devices as soon as patches become available to mitigate this risk.
