Summary
CVE-2023-3996 is a vulnerability affecting the ARMember Lite - Membership Plugin for WordPress in versions up to 4.0.14. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with administrator-level permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages, resulting in stored cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks. The vulnerability occurs due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. It only affects multi-site installations and installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled. To remediate this vulnerability, users should update the plugin to version 4.0.15 or later. This vulnerability poses a medium danger to organizations as it can lead to unauthorized execution of malicious scripts and potential data theft or manipulation.
