Summary

CVE-2023-3977 is a vulnerability that affects several plugins for WordPress by Inisev. These plugins are vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF), which allows unauthorized installation of plugins. The vulnerability arises due to a missing nonce check on the handle_installation function called via the inisev_installation AJAX action in various versions. This means that unauthenticated attackers can install plugins from a limited list by tricking a site administrator into performing an action, such as clicking on a link. The potential danger this vulnerability poses to organizations is that it enables attackers to gain unauthorized access and control over the affected WordPress websites. To remediate this vulnerability, users should update the affected Inisev plugins to the latest secure versions as soon as possible.
