Summary

CVE-2023-39366: A stored Cross-Site-Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affects versions of Cacti, an open-source operational monitoring framework. This issue allows authenticated users to inject malicious JavaScript code into the application's database, which is then executed in the victim's browser when viewing affected pages. The vulnerability was found in the `data_sources.php` script, which displays data source management information. An attacker who can configure a malicious device name can exploit this vulnerability, potentially impacting users with similar or broader privileges. Users are advised to upgrade to version 1.2.25 or manually filter HTML output as a temporary solution.
