Summary

CVE-2023-39360 is a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting Cacti, an open source operational monitoring and fault management framework. The vulnerability allows an authenticated user to inject malicious code into the system. It is found in `graphs_new.php`, where the `returnto` parameter is directly passed to `form_save_button`. To exploit this vulnerability, the `returnto` parameter must contain `host.php`. The issue has been addressed in version 1.2.25, and users are advised to upgrade. If upgrading is not possible, manual filtering of HTML output should be implemented. This vulnerability has a base severity rating of MEDIUM and poses a potential risk to the confidentiality and integrity of an organization's data.
