Summary
CVE-2023-39198 is a newly discovered vulnerability in the QXL driver within the Linux kernel. The issue lies in the qxl_mode_dumb_create() function, which dereferences a qobj handle before the handle itself is released. An attacker can leverage this race condition to guess the handle value and trigger a use-after-free condition. This vulnerability could potentially result in a denial-of-service scenario or privilege escalation.
