Summary

CVE-2023-39196 is an Improper Authentication vulnerability in Apache Ozone. This vulnerability allows an attacker to download metadata internal to the Storage Container Manager service without proper authentication. However, the attacker cannot make any modifications within the service or gain access to sensitive user data. The affected products include Apache Ozone versions 1.2.0 to 1.3.0. To remediate this issue, users are advised to upgrade to version 1.4.0, which resolves the vulnerability. The base severity of this vulnerability is rated as MEDIUM, with a base score of 5.3 out of 10, and it poses a low risk in terms of confidentiality impact and no impact on integrity or availability.
