Summary

CVE-2023-39129 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting GNU gdb (GDB) version 13.0.50.20220805-git. An issue was discovered within the add_pe_exported_sym() function in the coff-pe-read.c file. This vulnerability leads to a heap use after free condition, allowing attackers to potentially execute arbitrary code or cause memory corruption when debugging a PE (Portable Executable) file. The exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to significant security risks for affected systems.
