Summary
CVE-2023-3892 is a newly identified vulnerability affecting MIM Assistant and Client DICOM RTst Loading modules. An attacker can exploit this Improper Restriction of XML External Entity Reference issue by crafting a malicious XML document and embedding it into specific 3rd party private RTst metadata tags. Upon transfer of the compromised DICOM object to MIM and forcing it to archive and load the data, the attacker can gain unauthorized access. MIM Software strongly recommends updating to versions 7.2.11 and above for MIM Assistant, and 7.3.4 and above for MIM Client to mitigate the risk. This vulnerability was internally discovered by MIM Software's security team and no proof of concept or actual exploit is known to exist in the wild at present. This issue affects versions 7.2.10 and 7.3.3 of MIM Assistant and MIM Client.
