Summary
CVE-2023-38817 is a vulnerability affecting Inspect Element Ltd Echo.ac version 5.2.1.0. An attacker located on the same system can exploit this issue by crafting a command to the echo_driver.sys component, potentially gaining elevated privileges. Although the vendor claims that Microsoft has deactivated the ability for user-mode applications to execute code as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM, the vulnerability still poses a significant risk if not addressed promptly. It is recommended that users update to the latest version of Echo.ac to mitigate this issue.
