Summary
CVE-2023-38699 is a critical vulnerability affecting MindsDB's AI Virtual Database prior to version 23.7.4.0. The vulnerability allows an attacker to disable SSL certificate checks by making a call to requests with `verify=False`. In version 23.7.4.0, certificates are validated by default, which is the desired behavior. The vulnerability poses a high risk to organizations as it can lead to potential data breaches and unauthorized access to sensitive information. To remediate the vulnerability, organizations should update their MindsDB's AI Virtual Database to version 23.7.4.0 or later, ensuring that SSL certificates are always verified for methods in the Requests library.
