Summary

CVE-2023-38688 is a vulnerability in twitch-tui, a software that provides Twitch chat in a terminal. The vulnerability exists in versions prior to 2.4.1, where the software does not use TLS for communication with Twitch IRC servers. This means that all communication, including authentication tokens, is sent unencrypted and can be intercepted by attackers. To remediate this vulnerability, users should update to version 2.4.1 which includes a patch for the issue. The vulnerability poses a high risk to organizations as it allows for the potential sniffing of sensitive information during communication with Twitch IRC servers.
