Summary
CVE-2023-38558 is a newly discovered vulnerability affecting Siemens SIMATIC PCS neo (Administration Console) versions V4.0 and V4.0 Update 1. This issue allows an attacker with local access to the Administration Console to illicitly obtain Windows admin credentials. The leaked credentials could then be used to impersonate the admin user and gain unauthorized access to other linked Windows systems. This vulnerability poses a significant risk, especially in industrial control systems, and requires immediate attention for patching or mitigation.
