Summary

CVE-2023-38528 is a vulnerability found in various versions of Parasolid and Teamcenter Visualization. The vulnerability allows for an out of bounds write past the end of an allocated buffer while parsing a specially crafted X_T file, potentially enabling an attacker to execute code within the current process. The affected products include Parasolid versions V34.1, V35.0, and V35.1, as well as Teamcenter Visualization versions V14.1, V14.2, and V14.3. To mitigate this vulnerability, users should update their software to versions V34.1.258 or later for Parasolid and V14.1.0.11 or later for Teamcenter Visualization. This vulnerability poses a high risk to organizations as it could lead to unauthorized code execution with the privileges of the current process, potentially compromising confidentiality and integrity of data.
