Summary

CVE-2023-38486 is a vulnerability in the secure boot implementation on certain Aruba 9200 and 9000 Series Controllers and Gateways. This vulnerability allows an attacker to bypass security controls that normally prevent unsigned kernel images from executing. As a result, the attacker can execute arbitrary runtime operating systems, including unverified and unsigned OS images. The affected products include tzcV2r, sshdGq, hEwc1P, tzcV2t, sshdGp, hEwc1R, jxrQQN, hEwc1Q, jxrQQM, jxrQQP, and jxrQQO. The vulnerability has a high base severity rating of 7.7 and poses a high risk to organizations in terms of integrity and confidentiality impacts.
