Summary

CVE-2023-38366 is a vulnerability in IBM Filenet Content Manager Component versions 5.5.8.0, 5.5.10.0, and 5.5.11.0 that allows a remote attacker to traverse directories on the system by sending a specially crafted URL request containing "dot dot" sequences (/../). This vulnerability can be exploited over a network and has a base severity rating of MEDIUM with a base score of 5.3 according to the CVSS:3.1 vector string provided by IBM X-Force ID: 261115. The potential danger of this vulnerability lies in the ability for an attacker to view arbitrary files on the system, although the confidentiality impact is rated as low.
