Summary
CVE-2023-38322 is a vulnerability affecting OpenNDS Captive Portal before version 10.1.2. This issue involves a NULL pointer dereference in the do_binauth function, which can be triggered by a crafted GET HTTP request without a User-Agent header. When this vulnerability is exploited, OpenNDS experiences a Denial-of-Service condition as it crashes. This issue only occurs when the BinAuth option is set and can be mitigated by updating to OpenNDS version 10.1.3, which was released on August 28, 2023, in OpenWrt master, 23.05, and 22.03.
