Summary
CVE-2023-38313 is a vulnerability affecting OpenNDS Captive Portal versions prior to 10.1.2. This issue involves a NULL pointer dereference during the binauth process, which can be triggered by a crafted GET HTTP request missing a client redirect query string parameter. Consequently, the openNDS software crashes, leading to a Denial-of-Service condition. The vulnerability only occurs when the BinAuth option is set. OpenWrt master, OpenWrt 23.05, and OpenWrt 22.03 have been patched by updating OpenNDS to version 10.1.3 on August 28, 2023.
