Summary

CVE-2023-37896 is a vulnerability in the Nuclei project, affecting users utilizing Nuclei as Go code (SDK) running custom templates. This issue allows arbitrary files to be read on the filesystem in certain cases when using Nuclei from Go SDK implementation. The vulnerability has been fixed in version 2.9.9, and sandbox mode has been enabled by default for filesystem loading. Users can optionally disable sandbox mode if required using the new options: `-lfa` (allow local file access) and `-lna` (restrict local network access). The vulnerability has a high base severity rating of 7.5 and a high confidentiality impact, posing potential danger to organizations utilizing affected products.
