Summary

CVE-2023-37836 is a newly identified vulnerability affecting the libjpeg library. The issue stems from a reachable assertion in the BitMapHook::BitMapHook function located at bitmaphook.cpp. An attacker can exploit this flaw by crafting a specially designed file, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS) scenario. The libjpeg commit db33a6e is the source of this vulnerability.
