Summary

CVE-2023-37582 is a remote command execution vulnerability in the RocketMQ NameServer component. It affects NameServer versions 5.1.1 and below for RocketMQ 5.x, and versions 4.9.7 and below for RocketMQ 4.x. When the NameServer address is leaked on the extranet without proper permission verification, an attacker can exploit this vulnerability to execute commands as the system users that RocketMQ is running as. To remediate this issue, users are advised to upgrade their NameServer version to 5.1.2 or above for RocketMQ 5.x, or 4.9.7 or above for RocketMQ 4.x. This vulnerability has a base severity rating of CRITICAL with a base score of 9.8 according to [email protected], indicating a high potential danger to organizations if exploited successfully.
