Summary
CVE-2023-36900 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting the Windows Common Log File System (CLFS) driver. This elevation of privilege (EoP) vulnerability allows an attacker to gain system-level access by exploiting a flaw in the driver's logging functionality. Successful exploitation could lead to the installation of malware or unauthorized system modifications. Organizations using Windows operating systems are advised to update their CLFS driver as soon as a patch is released to mitigate this risk. The exact cause and exploitation methods of this vulnerability are not yet publicly known.
