Summary

CVE-2023-36840 is a Reachable Assertion vulnerability in the Routing Protocol Daemon (RPD) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved. It allows a locally-based, low-privileged attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS). This vulnerability affects various versions of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved, including versions prior to 19.3R3-S10 and 20.4R3-S7-EVO. To remediate the vulnerability, organizations should upgrade their affected Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved versions to the specified patched versions.
