Summary

A vulnerability, known as CVE-2023-36753, has been identified in several versions of RUGGEDCOM ROX devices, including MX5000, MX5000RE, RX1400, RX1500, RX1501, RX1510, RX1511, RX1512, RX1524, RX1536, and RX5000. The uninstall-app App-name parameter in the web interface of these devices is susceptible to command injection due to a lack of server-side input sanitation. This vulnerability could be exploited by an authenticated remote attacker with high privileges to execute arbitrary code with root privileges. The risk score is 26 out of 100. It is critical in severity and poses a high risk to confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the affected devices. To remediate this vulnerability, users should update their RUGGEDCOM ROX devices to version V2.16.0 or higher as soon as possible.
