Summary
CVE-2023-36742 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting Visual Studio Code. This issue permits remote code execution, allowing an attacker to execute arbitrary code on a victim's machine by tricking them into opening a maliciously crafted file. By exploiting this vulnerability, an attacker could install programs, view, modify, or delete data, and create new accounts with full user rights. Microsoft has released a security update to address this issue, and users are strongly encouraged to apply it as soon as possible to protect against potential attacks.
