Summary
CVE-2023-36567 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting Windows Deployment Services. This issue permits an unauthenticated attacker to obtain sensitive information through specially crafted DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) requests. The vulnerability exists due to insufficient input validation in the DHCP server component, potentially exposing server names, IP addresses, and other details. Successful exploitation could aid in further attacks, such as man-in-the-middle attacks or unauthorized access to the affected network. Microsoft strongly advises administrators to apply the available patch as soon as possible to mitigate the risk.
