Summary

CVE-2023-36474 is a vulnerability affecting the Interactsh tool prior to version 1.0.0. This vulnerability allows for subdomain takeover on domains configured with an interactsh server. The issue arises when the user has not set up a web client but still has a CNAME entry pointing to GitHub pages. As a result, an attacker can host and run arbitrary client-side code, such as cross-site scripting, in the user's browser when accessing the vulnerable subdomain. Version 1.0.0 of Interactsh fixes this vulnerability by making CNAME optional instead of the default configuration. The impact of this vulnerability is considered high, with a base severity score of 8.2 out of 10, and it requires user interaction for exploitation.
