Summary

CVE-2023-36473 is a vulnerability in the open-source discussion platform Discourse. It is a Content Security Policy (CSP) nonce reuse vulnerability that could potentially allow cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks to bypass CSP protection. Although there are currently no known XSS vectors, if one is discovered, this vulnerability could allow the XSS attack to completely bypass CSP. The latest patches for this vulnerability are available in the tests-passed, beta, and stable branches of Discourse. The vulnerability has a base severity of MEDIUM and a base score of 6.1 according to NIST's National Vulnerability Database (NVD).
