Summary
CVE-2023-36011 is a newly disclosed Win32k Elevation of Privilege vulnerability. This issue grants attackers local system access and the ability to elevate their privileges to those of a higher level, such as administrator, upon successful exploitation. The vulnerability is located within the Win32k component of the Windows operating system. Exploitation could occur when an attacker sends a specially crafted sequence of Windows Graphics Driver Model (WGDM) commands. Successful exploitation may lead to significant security implications, including unauthorized system access and data theft. Microsoft is currently working on a patch to address this issue, and users are strongly encouraged to install it as soon as it becomes available to bolster their system security.
