Summary
CVE-2023-3592 is a vulnerability affecting Mosquitto versions prior to 2.0.16. This issue arises when clients transmit v5 CONNECT packets containing will messages with ill-defined property types, leading to a memory leak. If exploited, an attacker could potentially deplete system resources, causing performance degradation or even denial-of-service conditions. To mitigate this risk, it is recommended to upgrade to a patched version of Mosquitto as soon as possible.
