Summary
CVE-2023-3582 is a vulnerability affecting Mattermost, an open-source team collaboration platform. This issue arises due to Mattermost's failure to verify channel membership during the process of linking a board to a channel. Consequently, a low-privileged authenticated user can gain unauthorized access to private channels by linking a board they control to a channel they do not have access to. This vulnerability can potentially lead to sensitive information exposure, making it a significant security concern for Mattermost users. Organizations using Mattermost are advised to apply the necessary patches or updates as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
