Summary

CVE-2023-3533 is a new vulnerability affecting Chamilo Learning Management System (LMS) versions prior to 1.11.20. This issue involves a path traversal flaw in the file upload functionality located in `/main/webservices/additional_webservices.php`. Unauthenticated attackers can exploit this vulnerability to conduct stored cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks, potentially leading to remote code execution. The XSS attacks are stored because the affected PHP script does not properly sanitize user-supplied file paths during the upload process. This flaw can be exploited by an attacker to inject malicious scripts into the learning management system, potentially gaining unauthorized access or control.
