Details
Summary
CVE-2023-3531 is a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability discovered in the nilsteampassnet/teampass GitHub repository prior to version 3.0.10. This issue allows an attacker to inject malicious scripts into web pages viewed by other users. The scripts can steal sensitive information, including cookies and authentication tokens, leading to unauthorized access to user accounts. Users are advised to upgrade to the latest version of the repository to mitigate this risk. Stored XSS vulnerabilities, unlike reflective ones, allow attackers to create and save malicious scripts on the server, increasing the potential impact and requiring more careful handling.
