Summary
CVE-2023-34478 is a vulnerability affecting Apache Shiro versions prior to 1.12.0 and 2.0.0-alpha-3. This issue allows an attacker to perform a path traversal attack, potentially resulting in an authentication bypass. The vulnerability can be exploited when Apache Shiro is used in conjunction with APIs or web frameworks that do not properly normalize requests. To mitigate this risk, it is recommended to update Apache Shiro to version 1.12.0 or later, or to version 2.0.0-alpha-3 or later.
